Bonjourno!

Man, I wish it weren’t only Wednesday. That means I still have two more days left of work. :X dangit. But I got paid today, so I’m now like 400 dollars richer! And I really desperately would like to go spend it all. But I’m trying to be good. People keep wanting me to babysit right after I get off work, and I just really really don’t want to. I mean, I’ve been working all week, I don’t want to go deal with your kids. UGH. And I hate that I feel like a bad person for saying no.

In other news I cut a bunch of my hair off last week (as evidenced by the photo below). I told her about 6 inches but I think it was more than that. I kinda miss my long hair but oh well. It’ll grow back out.

Other than that I’ve been working every day which is good for my bank account, but annoying. Oh well, it could always be worse.

We went to a water park on Sunday. It was really fun until I got bit by a fire ant and my foot swelled up to twice its size. And I got a bit burnt, but also quite a lot darker. Yay! So, it’s been really annoying because it itches all night and I can’t sleep. Also, it’s so swollen I can’t really walk well. Hopefully it will get better, because I’m really over it.

I also would really like to make some smores. Mmmmm… we’ll see if that happens.

in the good ole summertime

Hai, hai, hai!

Good grief! It is hot on the emerald coast. (Or the oil coast as I’m calling it now.) With the heat index over a 100 each day its rather unbearable unless you’re sitting in a pool.

Which is sad for my kids at school, cause they’re too little to go outside when its that hot. So we have to play in the gym.

But mostly I’m enjoying this lovely summer. I should be laying out more… cause I need to get tanner. But we’re going to a water park on Sunday… so I’ll probably get burnt then.

Work has been going pretty well although I’m really ready for this week to be over. Only 2 more days! Mostly I wish my throat would stop hurting and my head would stop being all stuffy. Its no fun and I’m angry that one of the kids got me sick. Ah well, whatcha gonna do? But my first paycheck should be pretty darn hefty, so I’m super excited about that.

I am in desperate need of a haircut (evidenced by the pictures…) but we’ll see if that happens anytime soon. I also have an ortho appointment in a few weeks. And we’re going to the harry potter theme park in two weeks!! So excited about that.

I really want a Monroe piercing right now… which is not a great idea. But I really want it! BAH. I just know that I need to do it now, cause I won’t be able to have it after I graduate.

Memorial Day Weekend!

I’ve finally gotten a job! Woohoo! Its working in a preschool in the 1 yr olds room. I’m super excited because I get to wear scrub tops to work. :D

Its going pretty well so far. I’ve worked three days. I like the kids, they’re cute. And I have tomorrow off. WOOT. We shall see. At least its Monday

I babysat overnight Thursday and Friday night. Which is kinda annoying. Especially since my cousin came in town. But whatever, its money too.

We had a little cook-in tonight with friends. (with burgers and hot dogs and chicken that was from our grill but we ate inside. haha). Then we made smores and ate ice cream it was lovely.

We also went to the flea market today. After a little adventure to find an ATM we looked around for a bit. And lo and behold we found these…



Yes, they’re pick axes. SCARY! Just sitting in a box at the flea market. Yikes.

I also bought a wizard of oz puzzle. Hopefully it has all the pieces. Yay.


Bookshelf we moved to the front room. Now we have tons of room for our books!

Anyway.. that’s about it.

Well, no luck on the job front. But I’ve got a few more babysitting days lined up which is good.

Other than that, I’ve been doing a whole lot of nothing. Today I actually got some stuff accomplished by cleaning up around the house and doing laundry. YAY for productivity. But I also play a lot of Sims… haha.

Also, I’m a bit hungry.. hm I should eat some lunch.

I watch a lot of Law and Order SVU, Baby Story, and yesterday I watched and ANTM marathon. So, I’ve gotten a lot done lately!

We tie dyed earlier in the week so I have an awesome new blue and purple tie dye shirt.

I’m reading Shirin Ebadi’s book Iran Awakening right now. Its actually from my Gender and Religion class last semester.. but I never got around to reading it since it was an extra credit assignment. Its a fascinating read about Iran before, during and after the revolution. The list of books that I want to read is growing longer and longer because I keep seeing books I want to read but I don’t ever finish the ones I’m already reading.

I’m so excited for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter to open! Hopefully we’re going the week after the grand opening. EEE! I’m ready.

Well, I’m off to read or watch SVU or something.

Happy Thursday!

I am excited that it is almost Friday, although I don’t really know why. I mean it’s not like I’ve been doing much this week so Friday isn’t any different than the rest of the week.

I’ve dropped off even more applications… I probably should be looking for a few more. Since no one has called me back yet. UGH. I hate jobhunting, and jobs and trying to make money. Oh well I keep hoping something will happen…

I’m probably going to Orlando this weekend to see my cousin in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I love this show.. So I’m excited. Not so excited about spending time in the car… but oh well.

Other than that I’ve been reading quite a bit.. And watching some tv. I’m trying to be good about doing something artistic each day, since I don’t have to work. Writing, or taking photos, or painting or something. I’ve been pretty good about it. I babysat yesterday… and I have to again on Monday. It wasn’t too bad.

I skyped with my friend Heather last night. And we had a puppy playdate over skype too. It was hilarious. I had my two puppies and she had hers and we were talking to the dogs and trying to get them to look at the computer. Haha. Oh good times.

Well, off I go to watch more reality TV. hahah

Hello blogosphere!

Long time no see. Been pretty busy I guess. Got through the wedding last weekend and through the first week at home this summer! Mostly I’ve been busy hanging out with friends that are only here for a few days, and applying for jobs. I’ve dropped off my application quite a few places… but haven’t heard from anyone yet. Unfortunately with a sucky economy and possible oil spill coming our way…. Most people aren’t hiring.

The wedding went well and it was very pretty. The weather wasn’t amazing, it was definitely windier and more overcast than we would have hoped for.. but it was still beautiful!

So, now I’ll continue to try to find a job and apply to a bunch of places. Hopefully something will turn up. :x

I also have a monster of a cold/allergy attack going on which is really annoying. Thanks a lot yellow pollen! Hopefully it will get better soon.

I watched An Education and Nine this week. I’d already seen Nine but I still loved it again. I absolutely love Marion Cotillard in everything she does. And I like Kate Hudson in that movie. An Education was a lovely little indie flick. I loved it because there were awesome clothes and British accents! Haha.

I would really like to go see that movie Babies that came out yesterday. I read that it’s kinda boring… but I really love babies so I think I’ll like it. And I’m sure I’ll get dragged to see Iron Man 2. Which I don’t really mind. Out of all the super hero movies, iron man is pretty good.

I did pretty well on my finals and managed an A, 2 A-'s, a B+ and a B this semester! And I made the Dean's list which I was happy about!

Other than that, I’m enjoying sleeping and being lazy. We’ll see what else happens..
