Summer! At last.

So I've been out of school for three weeks now (it actually feels like much longer). I've been enjoying my time off doing nothing related to school. I've read a ton, watched movie and tv shows and surfed the net A LOT.

I managed to get all A's and B's in my classes!! I was soooo happy when I saw that. I really was completely in shock. I was just hoping to pass the damn classes but I actually managed to do pretty well in them!

That means I'm taking Physiology online this summer and applying for nursing school for the fall. I'll know by mid-July if I got in... I'm trying to do this positive thinking thing. I WILL BE IN NURSING SCHOOL IN THE FALL!

Meanwhile I'm keeping busy reading and learning all kinds of fun stuff for my birth assistant job. I've got the assistant workshop this weekend and hopefully some births coming up!

We welcomed the official start of summer this weekend by a trip to the neighborhood pool! It was nice. I only got a bit sunburnt. :p

Off to enjoy some more summer for a few weeks before my class starts and I feel guilty for every minute I don't spend studying.

April!

Okay so April is almost over... but better late than never!

I got a job as a midwife's assistant last month! I've been to a couple of admin days at the office but haven't gotten to witness a birth. Hopefully it'll be soon! I'm super excited and I've got lots of classes and stuff coming up to do with that.

I've got 1 and half more weeks of this semester left!! I have one week of classes, and anatomy lab exam and then three finals.

I can do it! I've just got to buckle down and study my butt off! So much to do that I can't even bare to think about it. But then I'll be done!! I'm not doing any on campus classes this summer, just physio online. Then assuming I pass it, I should be in nursing school this fall!!

*Fingers crossed*

I've got so much studying to do! Off I go.

Spring timeee

It's spring time!! The temperatures have been in the 70's all week!! I'll take it. :)

I've been on spring break this week and I'm soooo sad its over. I really really don't want to go back to school. Right now I'm feeling like I'd be okay being done with school... forever. I mean when I sit back and look at it, I've been a (basically) full time college student for 7 years. Give or take a few summers. But seriously.... I'm so over it. And it doesn't help that all I have right now is science classes which I hate with a passion.

But alas.. I've still got 7 and a half weeks left of this semester. Then I'm probably going to take physio online at some point this summer. But I made the decision that I will not be taking any classes on campus this summer. I need a break... (I told my mom it was either a break or a breakdown).

I'm trying to be okay taking my time, and stop pushing myself to get through these classes as fast as possible. Since obviously thats not really working out too well for my grades... So I'm slowing down. Trying to enjoy life. I read like 3 books this spring break! THREE. hahaha. It was lovely.

Meanwhile the boys were here yesterday and today and we had Emmy last night. It was crazy but blissful to have all of them here. We went to the park today. It was super busy because of how nice is was. But oh well. I may have even got a bit of sun!

Anywho I should be off to bed. I've got to get up and go to school all day tomorrow. :(

In like a Lion

March is here! And boy does Mother Nature seemed to be pissed. We had tornado warnings and sirens going most of yesterday it seemed. Then in the afternoon there was a tornado (or maybe more than one) that touched down in southern Indiana and destroyed a couple of small towns.

Unfortunately my brother in law's 90 year old grandmother was living in one of the towns that got basically flattened. We had a tense couple of hours trying to figure out if her house was okay, where she was and whether she'd been hurt. Finally around 8 we finally heard that they had found her and she was on her way back up here to stay with family for a couple of weeks. Miraculously the little apartment building she lived in was basically fine, even though everything around it was gone. Just amazing.

My thoughts are with everyone that was affected by yesterdays tornadoes. (There were tornadoes in 8 states yesterday alone, I believe.) Sheesh.

Meanwhile I'm plugging away in school. I've got one more week till spring break, which I'm going to enjoy. Then 7 more weeks left in the semester. Just hoping I can make it through with the grades I need for this darn nursing program.

Other than that I've been reading a lot (I've read 13 books so far this year!). I'm working towards my goal of 50 books in this year. If it keeps going like this, I may actually make it!

My desk in my room. I don't have a problem... I also.. never clean. :p

I've been doing a bit more art journaling lately and working on some random projects. It's so relaxing. I just plug in my iPod. Turn on pandora and work for a while.

I've got almost a week off of school this week because of the Super Bowl screwing up downtown. Yay for the super bowl. It means I don't have to go to my chem lab! Score.

I have done absolutely no schoolwork since wednesday. Thats gonna bite me in the ass I'm sure. But I just hate my classes so much. It's not good. I've got to actually buckle down and get some work done at some point soon.

Mostly all I can think about is traveling.. Which I'll never have enough money to do unless I pass these classes and get into nursing school. But all I want to do is get on a plane. Because I think about how much student loan debt I'm going to have when I graduate.. and all I'm going to want to do is go somewhere. But I'm going to have to live like a monk for like 5 years after I graduate. Probably at home with parents. Awesome sauce.

Anywho I'm off to read random blogs. :-)

I'm as blah feeling as the weather

Seriously... If I hadn't gone to Tennessee last weekend I don't think I would have seen the sun in weeks. It was sunny for a bit on sunday before I left. But otherwise it has been cloudy, rainy, cold, sleeting, etc here for what feels like FOREVER.

It's seriously bumming me out, this weather.

I had my first chem lab this week. Yuck. It was sort of hard and just generally annoying. We had to wear our goggles the whole time and I had these lovely red lines on my face from them. Haha. I need to finish my lab report of that. Then I've got my anatomy test next week to study for. Plus I'm sure theres some other studying/homework I should really be doing.

But I honestly had to bribe myself to get out of bed this morning, by telling myself I could play the supermarket mania game I'm obsessed with. :) hahaha. Sad, but true. Thats what my life has come to. Self bribery.

Meanwhile, I'm backing up my tumblr which is quite exciting. Although its taking FOREVER.

I haven't taken many photos lately and thats sad... I need to work on that. I also need to start going to the gym. like.. fo' reals. :p

Regardless, I'm off to listen to/transcribe my anatomy lectures for a while. Oh.. school.
